172nd Birthday celebrations of Holy Mother

Ramakrishna Math, Rajamahendravaram celebrated the 172nd birthday of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi on Sunday, 22 December 2024 with due solemnity.

On this auspicious occasion, special puja, homa were performed and vedic chanting, bhajans and lectures by swamijis (both in the morning and evening) were conducted. In all, 650 devotees attended the program and the noon prasad was served to all. In the evening arati and vedic chanting were performed at Sri Sarada Devi Mandapam (on the banks of Godavari), Pushkar ghat.

To commemorate this occasion, ‘Narayana seva’ was organized on December 17 and 20,  in which, a total of 400 poor patients were fed with a sumptuous lunch, and 200 sarees were distributed to the most deserving women in tribal hamlets.

Winter Relief on 25.11.2024

Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram conducted a Winter Relief on 25th November 2024.  A total of 350 free blankets were distributed among the  poor and needy people in 11 tribal hamlets of Alluri Sitaramaraju District, Andhra Pradesh.d.

Youth Convention on 27.09.2024

In commemoration of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses (1893, September 11–27), Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram organised several Values Education programs in various educational institutions from 2024 September 11 to 27.

On Friday, 27 September 2024, to commemorate the final session of Chicago Addresses, a youth convention was conducted in the Math campus for college students, in which Revered Swami Sashikantananda ji Maharaj, Swami Parijneyananda, Swami Sevayananda, and Sri Amirapu Natarajan addressed the students.

A total of 400 students participated in the convention. Swamiji’s literature was distributed to all the students and the laminated photos of Swami Vivekananda were presented to six colleges. All the participants were served with lunch

In the evening, a motivational programme was held at Rajamahendravaram Central Jail for the benefit of prisoners. Swamis and the Deputy Superintendent of Jail addressed the gathering in the program. The literature of Swami Vivekananda and fruits were distributed to 1500 prisoners. A few laminated photos of Swamiji were presented for display in the jail.   

On this occasion, Swamiji’s literature worth Rs.25,000/- was distributed.

A Special Puja on 07-04-2024

In connection with the Mahasamadhi of Most Revered Srimat Swami Smarananandaji Maharaj, the 16th President of Ramakrishna Sangha, Rajamahendravaram centre conducted a memorial meeting on Sunday, 7 April 2024.

On this occasion, Special puja was performed.  Bhajans, Japa sadhana, Bhogarati, Pushpanjali and a memorial meeting were organized. Swami Sashikantananda ji reminisced about Most Revered President Maharaj. Lunch prasad was served to 125 devotees.

113th Anniversary of the Divine Mother Sri Sarada Devi's visit to Rajamahendravaram

In commemoration of the 113th anniversary (2 April 1911 – 2 April 2024) of the Divine Mother Sri Sarada Devi’s visit to Rajamahendravaram*, the aarati, vedic chanting, and bhajans were performed at the SRI SARADA DEVI MANDAPAM, near Pushkar ghat on the banks of Godavari on the morning of TUESDAY, 2 APRIL 2024. All the monks and devotees offered Pushpanjali to the Mother and prasad was served to 60 devotees.

In the afternoon the motivational program was arranged exclusively for our employees. Swami Sashikantananda ji addressed the staff on the topic “The motto of Ramakrishna Mission & the significance of Seva” followed by interaction. All the staff members (100 employees), were given a gift of travel trolley bags and served with snacks.

On the same day evening at 4.30 the Narayana Seva was organized, wherein 200 sarees were distributed to the slum dwellers and prasad was served to all.

A brief history of Holy Mother’s visit to Rajamahendravaram

Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and her companions left Madras on 1 April 1911 for Puri by train after completing their pilgrimage in South India. On the next day (2 April 1911) they stopped at Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry) in Andhra Pradesh.  Swami Ramakrishnananda had arranged their stay in the residence of Dewan Bahadur M.O. Parthasarathi Iyengar, the judge of the Godavari district. His home was on the bank of the Godavari River (at present, Municipal water treatment plant exists), so the Mother and her companions got easy access to bathe there. The party left Rajahmundry on 3 April 1911 and reached Puri on the next day via Khurda Road station.

The devotees of Andhra Pradesh erected a monument and installed a statue of Holy Mother on the ghat where she bathed. The Holy Mother mandapam was inaugurated on 13 August 1991 by Most Revered Srimat Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj, Vice-president, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission.

189th Birthday Celebration of Sri Ramakrishna

Rajamahendravaram centre celebrated the 189th Birthday of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna on 12 March 2024 with due solemnity.

On this auspicious occasion special puja, homa were performed and vedic chanting, bhajans and lectures by swamijis (both in the morning and evening) were conducted. In all, around 650 devotees participated in the program and the noon prasad was served to all.

In the evening, ‘Narayana seva’ was organized in which 200 Khaki shirts (Uniform) and 200 ration kits worth Rs.2,00,000/- were distributed to the Auto drivers to mark the occasion. Each ration kit contains –  Toor Dal 1Kg,  Urad Dal 1 Kg, Sugar 1 Kg, Idli Rava 1 Kg,  Atta 1 Kg, Oil 1 Kg, Karachi Rava 1kg and Tea powder 200 gm. Prasad was served to all the Auto drivers.

162nd Birthday celebrations of Swami Vivekananda

Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram  celebrated the 162nd Birthday of Swami Vivekananda on 2 February 2024 with due solemnity.

On this auspicious occasion special puja, homa were performed and vedic chanting, bhajans and lectures by swamijis (both in the morning and evening) were conducted. In all, around 500 devotees participated in the program and the noon prasad was served to all.

In the evening, ‘Narayana seva’ was organized in which 170 ration kits worth Rs.1,25,000/- were distributed to the municipal sanitary workers to mark the occasion. Each ration kit contains –  Toor Dal 1Kg,  Urad Dal 1 Kg, Sugar 1 Kg, Idli Rava 1 Kg, Ground Nuts 1 Kg, Atta 1 Kg, Oil 1 Kg, Karachi Rava 1kg and Tea powder 100 gm. Prasad was served to all the workers.

National Youth Day Celebration

In connection with the National Youth Day celebrations, Ramakrishna Math &  Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram conducted Youth Conventions in which 20,860 students and 2,000 faculty participated.

As a part of National Youth Day celebrations, a procession “Vivekananda Shobha Yatra” was organised on 12 January 2024 starting from the Ramakrishna Math, Swami Vivekananda Road to Vivekananda Circle, Kambala Tank, Rajamahendravaram, in which about 230 students, teachers of Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence and Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa, devotees and admirers participated. Swamiji’s statue at Kambala Tank, Rajamahendravaram was garlanded by monks and dignitaries.  All the youth recited ‘Swadeshi Mantra’ and quotes of Swamiji with great enthusiasm.

171st Birthday of Holy Mother

Rajamahendravaram Ramakrishna Math celebrated the 171st Birthday of Holy Mother Sri Sarada devi on 3 January 2024 with due solemnity.

On this auspicious occasion special puja, homa were performed and vedic chanting, bhajans and lectures by Swamijis (both in the morning and evening) were conducted. In all, 550 devotees participated in the program and the noon prasad was served to all.

In the evening ‘Narayana seva’ was organized in which 171 sarees were distributed to the poor women to mark the occasion. Prasad was served to all the women.

Kalpataru Utsav - 2024

Rajamahendravaram Ramakrishna Math celebrated the holy KALPATARU festival on 1 January 2024, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The program started with prayer, special arati to Sri Gurumaharaj, followed by Japam, devotional bhajans by Swamijis, and a talk on “The difference between the Mythological Kalpataru and the Modern Kalpataru – Sri Ramakrishna” by Swami Parijneyananda.

A life-size photo of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna was arranged under a mango tree, depicting the relevance of the occasion.  A total of 125 devotees participated and prasad was served to all.

Value Education Programme

Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram centre organized a half-day “Values Education” program for VIII & IX class students on 15 December 2023 for girls and  on 16 December 2023 for boys. The program started with Meditation, Vedic chanting, followed by talks by monks, and the recitation of Swadeshi Mantra and quotes of Swamiji by students.

All the students visited the book stall after the programme and purchased the books. In all, 215 students participated in the program. Swamiji’s literature was distributed and snacks were served to all the students.

Value Education Programme

Rajamahendravaram centre organized a two-day “Values Education” program for intermediate students, for girls on 17 November and for boys on 18 November 2023 at the math auditorium.

The program started with meditation, Vedic chanting, followed by talks by monks. The programme ended with the recitation of Swadeshi Mantra and quotes of Swamiji by students.

In all, 223 students participated in the program. Swamiji’s literature was distributed to all the students.  Refreshments were served to all the participants.
